The 2022 This Must Be The Place Pinot Noir comes again from the majestic Pelos Sandberg Vineyard in the Eola Amity Hills. Pelos-Sandberg vineyard is owned and meticulously farmed by Don Sandberg. We feel quite fortunate to get to work with this vineyard. We work with a single block, the Pappou block, and a single clone of Pinot Noir, Pommard, to craft this wine. The idea for this wine is a tribute to Oregon's beautiful Willamette Valley, where we call home.
This wine has aromatic notes of a blend of wild red berries, earthy meadow, red raspberry, and a hint of chai spice that leads into mineral-inflected silky smooth flavors of ripe red currants, delicate cherries, sassafras, and faint savory herbs. This wine is marked by its pretty and pure Pinot Noir character, finishing gracefully, lingering ethereally on the palate. And yet again, it has a very limited production.
